“Tere paon mein chakkar hain.”
People who’ve known me a while are shocked that I traded in my high-stress marketing career to be a stay-at-home mom. My husband even more so. He didn’t think I would last long and he was right (and I don’t say that very often). In December 2015, along with my sister-in-law in India, I started KetchupMoms, an online magazine that was bringing culturally diverse parents together over family, food, and health. As it was starting to flourish, I felt I needed another avenue to reach and connect with people.
That’s how Maple & Marigold was born.
A love letter to our life and travels, maple represents Canada and our home here, and marigold, with its colour and significance in Indian traditions, represents my Indian roots.
I’ll take you into my kitchen where I use spices, herbs, and cooking techniques to add the flavour of India into my daily cooking in Canada. At the same time, you’ll find out that I’m not one to spend hours in front of a stove. I love shortcuts that allow me to spend time and have outdoor adventures with my family. Maple & Marigold is about my journey as a work-at-home mom, looking for new ways to stress less, eat smart, and enjoy life without over-thinking it all.
